About Us:
Kural Koodal Semmozhi Foundation America is a non-profit organization based in Houston, TX, U.S. The Thirukkural is an ancient piece of Tamil literature written by Thiruvalluvar, dating back over 2000 years. It contains 1,330 couplets each with unique teachings that are still applicable and taught today. Each athigaram, or chapter, contains 10 Thirukkurals. The teachings can apply to all people, and although it was originally written in Tamil, it has been translated to over 40+ languages. Kural Koodal has taken the initiative to record all 133 athigarams to unique ragas. The project contains over 100+ ragas that capture the bhavam, or emotion that is appropriate for each chapter. We hope that enjoy our album and delve into the world of Thirukkural.
